It’s all about good karma in our Amouage Yoga Shala. And for the past month, the Surf Maroc yogis have loved spreading the good vibes with our new weekly Karma Class.
Normally lead by our Surf Maroc yogi, Natalie, we welcome our guests and local community to practice yoga while raising money for our charity of the month. All-level yogis are invited to come and find a mat, simply donate a few dirhams to our Karma Jar, and enjoy an hour of feel-good yoga.
Throughout February, we’ve loved bringing together local yoga teachers, surf camp owners, Taghazout residence and Surf Maroc guests. There’s nothing like enjoying and connecting over a mid-morning yoga practice with amazing ocean views! And this first month’s classes have all been in aid of the amazing Moroccan Animal Aid (MAA). MAA is a local animal charity run by volunteers who work to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in and around Taghazout. All donations go towards providing emergency help, vaccinations, neutering, general welfare and fostering/adoption. It’s a brilliant charity that works on our doorstep, and has helped many of the animals we see and love every day!
We’re so chuffed to announce this month we raised 1,320 dirhams for MAA! Thank you to all the wonderful souls who came and donated so generously this month. You’re all amazing!
With such success, we’re delighted to be continuing this class every Tuesday, 10.30am at the Amouage Shala. With the Karma Class rotating its donations to local causes, we’ve chosen the next charity of the month as Surfrider Foundation Morocco. This incredible association works tirelessly to protect, enhance and sustainably manage our coastline, waves and it’s users – something that Surf Maroc feels very passionately about!
