We are looking for a lively and personable Social Host to join our team at Amouage. As the face of our resort, you will be the key point of contact for our guests, ensuring they have a memorable experience from check-in to check-out. Your role will involve managing guest interactions, coordinating daily activities, and providing exceptional service throughout their stay.

Morning Shift (Starts at 8 AM)
- – Update yourself with the morning receptionist regarding the night’s events and the coming day & collect the departure/Arrival/RMC list from reception.
- – Make sure everyone is at their post, groomed, and respecting protocols.
- – Make sure everything is on and open (lights, music, doors, etc.) and assist in setting up breakfast.
- – Make sure the kitchen is ready for breakfast, and the lunch buffet is set at 7.30am.
- – Welcome guests for breakfast, and make sure everybody knows who they are going surfing with and they already have their equipment (if not, send them to the shop). Explain to them about the lunch buffet.
- – Any guest not surfing: inform the guide, and prepare a packed lunch so the guest can collect it later.
- – For any guest on Surf Package arriving later that day: prepare the packed lunch, write the guest’s name on it, and leave it in the kitchen & inform the bar about it.
- – Give a hand at the breakfast and lunch buffet: make sure it’s always clean and do not hesitate to ask the kitchen if items are missing.
- – Send everybody surfing: Introduce them to their surf guide, make sure everybody is here. You are the chef d’orchestre to be sure everybody knows where they go etc.
- – Follow up at the restaurant: packed lunch buffet to be taken away, tables to be cleaned and reset if there are RO in the hotel, breakfast buffet to be cleaned and refilled according to the number of guests who did not have breakfast yet.
- – Check with the RO guest who is coming for dinner.
- – Count the dinner for the night / breakfast and lunch for the next day and update the kitchen / make sure all diets and special requests are mentioned too – all info to be collected by 11 am before you leave.
- – Go for a walk around the property (front and back of the house / indoor and outdoor areas / customers and staff zone) and report anything not working or broken – pick up what may be left here and there – help to maintain the standards of the hotel.
- – Check the arrival rooms that are ready before you leave: make sure all amenities are there, dust is properly done even on top shelves, the bathroom dispenser is cleaned, safe open, etc.
Afternoon Shift (Starts at 4:30 PM)
- – Update yourself with the afternoon receptionist to know what happened during your break.
- – Welcome back all the guests from surfing and make sure everybody is alright with their groups / surf guides / levels / Coaching session. Information to be collected by 17:30pm to send the 6pm email to Logistics and update pack lunch numbers.
- – Make sure the departure guests are aware of check-out time.
- – Inform the reception in case of any issues.
- – Inform the manager in case of any complaints.
- – Assist the restaurant team to get the setup done for the evening.
- – Make sure everybody is aware yoga is happening at 6pm, they need to be there 10 to 5 min before and they can get their token from the reception.
- – Print out the Day Plan and make sure all your guests are on it (surfing and departure).
- – Update the board downstairs with the surf conditions of the following day.
- – Highlight the early departure.
- – Make sure you update the guests on the day plan: make a small tour on dips time to explain who they are with the next day or departure time.
Dinner
19:30: Dips are served on the resident’s table.
- – Make sure they are always full until dinner time. Perfect gathering time with the guests to let them know what the plan for the next day, to sign them off for beach cleaning or event nights, etc.
20:00 Dinner time (make sure any guest on a specific diet gets their own plate)
- – Make sure the kitchen keeps plates for late arrivals and make sure all your guests are at the table.
- – Keep track of the RO to charge to their rooms the dinner.
- – If the service is pretty busy, help the team to serve the dishes, clean the tables, etc.
- – You do the service for the special dish and make sure to order the special dessert as soon as waiters start cleaning the table.
Arrivals & Departures
Early departure: the bill has to be paid before 11 pm at the desk+breakfast to prepare in the kitchen (granola cookie+small water+fruits).
Late departure: checkout is 10 am, the bill has to be paid before going surfing. They can keep their towels with their suitcase to take a shower when coming back from the beach.
Welcome late arrival (up to 22h30) / Prepare a welcome letter for super late arrival & dinner at the kitchen make sure to put it on the board for any departure/arrival if you or reception are not around and tell the chef in the kitchen.
Ideal Candidate
- – Previous experience in hospitality, guest relations, or event coordination with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
- – Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- – A warm, approachable manner with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- – Familiarity with hotel operations, including guest services, food and beverage, and event management.
- – Willingness to work shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and late evenings.
- – Fluent in English and French.
Duty Roles
As a host, you must be able to assist or cover in any department in case of a lack of staff, therefore train yourself by spending time working with the team:
- – At reception, you should be able to make a reservation/ check-in / check-out
- – At the restaurant, to take an order and serve it and to take the payment
- – At the bar, to make all the basic drinks at the bar
- – On the floors, to do a room if needed to change bed settings (twin or double) or refresh towels
Your role is to help to make our guest experience amazing, therefore this may require you to roll up your sleeve and get things done yourselves: what matters is the result.
You also have a responsibility to make sure all standards and protocols are respected, therefore you need to know all of them and make sure to re-enforce them while on duty.
